Professional Integrity

The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, incorporated by Royal Charter in 1880, is one of the largest and most respected professional bodies in the world.

About half of its members are with firms in public practice, the others working mainly in industry and commerce. Every Chartered Accountant undergoes several years of intensive professional training, culminating in examinations of a very high standard. All Chartered Accountants are expected to keep their knowledge up to date and practicing certificates, granted by the Institute, have to be renewed annually.

Chartered Accountants must maintain the highest standards or integrity, professional independence and confidentiality. The Institute operate a Practice Assurance Scheme where all firms are visited regularly to ensure these standards are upheld, and they regulate firm’s investment business activities.
